In accordance with the U.S. DOT regulations (49 CFR § 37.3 and § 37.167 [d]), individuals with disabilities are permitted to be accompanied by their service animals in all areas of Louisiana Gateway Port facilities and transportation services where the public is allowed to go.
A service animal is defined as any dog or other animal that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disabilities. Emotional-support, comfort, or therapy animals that are not trained to perform specific tasks are not considered service animals under this regulation.
If you believe you were denied access, were separated from your service animal, or experienced other barriers related to service-animal accommodation, please submit a complaint or inquiry using the form below.
Louisiana Gateway Port will investigate all submissions promptly and take appropriate corrective action consistent with federal and state nondiscrimination and accessibility laws.
Louisiana Gateway Port operates in compliance with federal civil-rights and accessibility laws, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
