Executive Legal Counsel

Official Class Title: PORT EXECUTIVE LEGAL COUNSEL

Plaquemines Port has an opening for a full-time unclassified position for an Executive Legal Counsel to perform the day- to-day legal services and provide legal advice to the Port, Port staff, and the Port Board of Commissioners regarding administrative management and development of the Port and Port projects.

The Executive Counsel must exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment in various phases of work.

The duties and responsibilities shall include administration of Port properties, facilities, personnel, finances, contracted services and marketing of the Plaquemines Port, Harbor & Terminal District for Port Development, and all legal services related to port development.

The successful applicant shall hold a valid license to practice law in the State of Louisiana and have held such license for not less than ten (10) years prior to appointment years plus a minimum of five (5) years as a practicing attorney prior to appointment. The Executive Counsel shall report to the Port Executive Director.
